The NASSCOM Game Developer Conference 2016 (also known as NGDC 2016) is scheduled to be held at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC) during 10th – 12th November, 2016. Every year, hundreds of people including professional game developers, students, cosplayers, gaming press and people related to the gaming industry attend this event. In the recent past, the event had been organized in Pune, but this year it will be held in Hyderabad instead.
The event is expected to feature –
- A pitching competition for games
- Talks by industry experts on a wide variety of topics, including technical, artistic, monetary, publicising etc.
- Showcase of the finalists of and announcement of the winner of Build Your Own Game (BYOG) 2016, an annual competition organised to correspond with the NGDC
- NASSCOM Gaming Forum Awards (NGF Awards 2016), with categories such as Game of the Year, Indie Game of the Year and Student Game of the Year.
In addition to digital games, this years’ NGDC also intends to cover Board Games as well.
The event will also feature a launchpad meant for Game Developers to showcase their upcoming games.
