Steam recently announced the availability of new payment options in India. As seen in our previous post, the new payment options are being facilitated by NovaPlay. The new options include –
- Net Banking
- Debit Card
- Cash On Delivery
- PayTM
This has been hailed as a great move by many Indian gamers and is expected to increase Steam purchases in India gradually, as awareness of Steam and it’s available payment methods increase. In the short term, hardcore PC gamers are expected to avail these methods during the upcoming Steam sale. Payment methods have always been a difficult issue to resolve for online storefronts, as this has plagued even Google Play and the iOS App Store. However, by providing cash on delivery, Steam can be expected to reach a new batch of gamers previously unable to access its library freely due to payment restrictions.
